Donald Judd wrote some great stuff about Lee Bontecou way back when he was writing criticism for money. In fact, from what, I remember Judd's writing is worth a revisit as is Bontecou's wok. Thanks for the reminder.
Funny you should mention that. I was thinking about writing about Bontecou's work myself, and the above was intended as a sort of preface.
And yeah, a good portion of the "criterial core" of Judd's "Specific Objects" reads like he might've well been writing about Bontecou's pieces. (I believe a few have claimed that that was indeed the case.)
